The 2026 salary review

This year’s seminars on the 2026 salary review have now been completed. Some managers have already held their salary discussions, while others are in the middle of them. Based on what is discussed during these meetings, managers will then determine what they consider to be the “right salary” for you and your colleagues.

For those of you working at the University administration, the University library or the Internal audit, the salary discussion is followed by a salary-setting dialogue. At this dialogue, your manager will present you the proposed new salary. You do not have to sign the agreement on the same day. You have the right to take at least until the following day to consider it. You can also contact us at Saco‑S at Uppsala University if you have any questions or concerns. If you do not understand the proposed new salary or feel that the process has not been carried out properly, you can request an enhanced salary-setting meeting. Of course, you are welcome to contact us even before that.

For those of you working at a department or “intendentur”, we recommend supplementing your salary discussion with your manager with a negotiation form to us at Saco-S at Uppsala University. The purpose of the form is to give our negotiators the best possible basis for their work, so that we can do our best to ensure that you receive the best possible salary. In the negotiation form, you describe what you have done during the review period, 1 October 2025–30 September 2026, and how well you have performed your work.

Please note that we never share the negotiation form with the employer, and that we only use it for this year’s salary review.

The 2026 doctoral students salaries

The 2026 salary ladder for doctoral students is ready. If you receive benefits from the Swedish Social Insurance Agency (Försäkringskassan), you should notify them of your new salary. Please also state that the date on which the agreement on the 2026 doctoral salary scale was finalized was (date).
