In the membership newsletter for June you can read about the new board, upcoming vacant appointments, what you need to think about if you need to work during vacation and that we have a new website.

A new board as of July 1

On July 1, the new board that was elected at the annual meeting on April 23 takes office. Lars Madej becomes the new chairperson and Robert Malmgren steps down in his role as chairperson but remains as substitute on the board. We thank Johanna Norberg Hägglund, Claes Thorén, Michael Papenbrock, Ulrika Persson-Fischier and Serdar Temiz for all their work during the previous term and we welcome Nadja Duffner-Ylvestedt, Johan Åhrgren, Samuel Wenell and Cecilia Lindholm! Of course, we are also happy that Petra Eriksson, Thomas Ekstrand, Henning Henschel and Banafsheh Seyyed Khezri will continue on the board. 😊

Are you interested in getting involved in the union? We think it is important that everyone should have an opportunity to get involved, that is why we usually send out information to all our members about appointments that become available during the year. You can also contact us, so we can already now note that you are interested. After the vacation, we will send an e-mail saying that we are looking for a person who can take care of our website and communication as well as representatives to various committees and boards. Presence at the workplace during vacation

If you need to work during your vacation, you and your head of department/ equivalent need to have an agreement on this so that you are insured at your workplace and on the way to and from work. That agreement could, for example, be a schedule or that you send an e-mail to your manager before you go to work. It is especially important if you work in a laboratory environment.

New website

Just like the rest of the university, the Saco-S association at UU has changed web platform and thus also the appearance of our website, however the web address is the same as before. Although most of the information is up, there are still things that are missing from the new site, which you could find on the old site. We also have plans to restructure some of the pages a bit, so we would appreciate your patience with this until we get everything in place. If you have any questions or want to get hold of any information, just email us at saco-s@uu.se and we will help you.

Staffing this summer

Saco-S at Uppsala University is closed this summer from July 31 to August 2. We will have limited ability to respond to e-mails during the summer, so there might be slightly longer response times.
