Doctoral student salary ladder 2010

This doctoral student ladder is valid from 2010-10-01.

Year 1: SEK 21 700
Year 2: SEK 22 400
Year 3: SEK 23 100

50 %: SEK 24 100
80 %: SEK 25 100

Doctorate: SEK 25 900

The meaning of "year" is a completed year as a doctoral student/assistant with doctoral grants or in other active research studies in postgraduate level of education (third-cycle) according to an assessment made by the head of department.

The salary is adjusted upwards at the end of the calendar month without a special decision.

The number of percent of the requirements for the doctoral degree that must have been achieved. The head of department makes a decision after consulting with the supervisor. Normally, 50 % and 80 %, respectively, of the requirements for the doctoral degree must be met after 24 and 38 months of full-time studies, respectively. Deviations from this must be specifically justified.

Salary for doctorate is obtained from the calendar month after obtaining a doctorate. The head of department makes the decision.

A salary supplement of SEK 5 500 shall be paid to doctoral students/equivalent who are registered doctors (Swedish: legitimerad läkare).

For the reason of recruitment, a fixed salary supplement in the interval of SEK 1 000 - SEK 6 000 (calculated on full-time employment) can be paid to doctoral students/equivalent in market vulnerable business areas.
