Local agreement on fixed-term employment of adjunct teacher
This is an unofficial translation of the agreement from Swedish.
1 §
With the support of an agreement on fixed-term employment of adjunct teachers between the Swedish Agency for Government Employers, Saco-S, OFR-S and SEKO, the parties enter into a local agreement on fixed-term employment of adjunct teachers.
2 §
The parties agree on the following application of the central agreement at Uppsala University:
3 § Assessment of needs
The Human Resources Division must ask Disciplinary Domains/faculties for an assessment of the need for adjunct in 2012. Forecasts for the following year must then be made at the end of each year. The forecast must be presented by the University in the Central Collaboration group (CSAM).
4 § Reporting of outcomes
The reporting of the outcome of the employments for the first half of 2012, shall be reported by the University in CSAM in August - September 2012. Reporting shall thereafter take place at the corresponding time each year.
5 § Follow-up
The first follow-up of the application of the agreement for the period 2012 - 2015 must take place no later than 1 April 2016 and be reported in CSAM.
6 § Negotiation procedure in individual cases
Negotiations according to MBL must take place before a decision is made to start recruiting a adjunct teacher. The negotiation shall be conducted centrally at the University by the Human Resources Division in order to ensure a satisfactory application of the agreement for both parties. The negotiation shall be preceded by registration of the employment in the University's IT system for registration and negotiation of recruitment decisions, currently Edgar (Edgar, the University's support system for the electronic handling of recruitment decisions).
7 § Application of other collective agreements
If the person employed as an adjunct teacher is employed by another main employer, ALFA shall not be applied to the employment. This must be written into the employment contract.
8 § Payment of salary
Salary must be paid as a monthly salary, not as an hourly wage. Salary must be set individually and differentiated. Salary proposals are submitted to the staff organization prior to the negotiation of the Human Resources Division.
Joint comment by the parties
If an adjunct teacher has a main employer, the person is judged in most cases to keep the salary from the main employer. If this is not to happen, or when the adjunct teacher is a self-employed person, salary formation shall take place in accordance with 8 §.
9 § Validity
This agreement is valid from 25 January 2012 until further notice with a mutual notice period of six months as of 30 June annually, however, for as long as the central agreement on adjunct teachers applies.
