Salary reduction plan

Salary reduction plan means that you as an employee exchange part of your gross salary for another benefit that the employer finances, for example a pension. The general recommendation is that it is not worthwhile to consider a salary reduction plan if you earn less than the 7.5 income base amount.

The employer saves with the salary reduction plan on the employee's salary. There are employers who give all or part of it to the employee. However, the Swedish Agency for Government Employers has issued a general recommendation not to give the saved part to the employee, which is something that Uppsala University follows.
