The activity report for 2017
1 The council, board and office
Saco-S represents about 3 500 members in 20 independent unions and eight local-local Saco associations. The ordinary annual meeting during which the Board was elected for the period 16/17 took place in November 22nd, 2016.
During the year, the board has had 24 meeting that were recorded in minutes. There have also been a few meetings without minutes; these meetings mostly took place to discuss issues that were negotiated on Thursdays. Regarding the office, Kirsi Höglund has worked 100 % as an union trustee, as well as Anna Eklund 50 %, Malin Nilsson Norén 25 % (during three months in the spring of 2017) and Constanze Ackermann-Boström 5 % during the spring and 50 % during the autumn of 2017.
2 Union trustees
The persons listed below are on leave of absence without getting their pay deducted for union-related work. The percentage of the reduction is indicated in parentheses for last bussiness year (December 2016 - June 2017). The reduction is reviewed at the beginning of every academic year. In total the reduction for Saco-S is equivalent to 685 %.

3 Negotiations
During the bussiness year (November 2016 - November 2017), negotiations about recruitments, new salaries, notices of dismissal have been handled with the digital negotiation tool EDGAR. The board has divided the cases in EDGAR in certain university areas and each Saco-S board member goes through the cases in his or her area and accepts or makes claims. In cases of claims, these are negotiated, usually by the chairperson Per Sundman and the vice chairperson Tina Hedmo, at the University Administration.

- New organisation for chief safety representative (Swedish: huvudskyddsombud)
- Working time for IT-support, including when standby is required

- Activity plans for the University and also for the Faculties and the Disciplinary Domains

- Negotiations about disagreement regarding calculation of working time

Other activities
Participation in other administrative units at Uppsala University
The Saco-S council is represented in the University Board as well as in the boards of the Disciplinary Domains and in the boards of the Faculties. Representatives have the right to attend these board meetings and have the right to free speech. The council is also represented in the Committee for Equality, Committee for Ethnic and Social Diversity, Committee for Proposals (Swedish: Förslagskommittén), Central Collaboration group, Joint Committee on Work Environment Issues, Staff disciplinary board (see below under section 4). Furthermore, the Saco-S council continuously receives information about issues that are discussed during the weekly meeting with the vice-chancellor (Swedish: Rektorssammanträden). During this last business year, Saco-S representatives participated in the process for the recruitment of the vice-chancellor, the salary survey and in courses and conferences organised by The Central Government Social Partners’ Council (Swedish: Partsrådet).

- Per Sundman participated in conferences on agreements
- Robert Malmgren participated in a one-day course on conflict management
- Kirsi Höglund participated in a one-day course on conflict studies and took a 15 credit course in law.

- Salary-setting discussions (on September 14th and 20th in Uppsala)
- Salary review 2017 (in Visby on September 21st and in Uppsala on October 12th)
- Meeting with representatives in different boards
The Saco-S-council participated in the information event for new employees on March 2nd and September 14th.
Seven member letters (December 2016, March, April, May, June, September and October 2017) and invitations to seminars were sent to all members since the last annual meeting.
Saco-S has a website with information about its activities. This website has been developed and updated continuosly during the year.
