We are looking for a repreesntative for JiUU!
We are now looking for a person to represent Saco-S in the Gender mainstreaming reference group (JiUU) at the university. To be able to become a representative, you have to be a member of an independent Saco-S union and you also have to have an employment at Uppsala University. The reference group meets 2 times per semester and forms a forum for strategic discussions based on the "Gender Mainstreaming Plan 2023-2025". More information on being a representative in JiUU.

We are at the moment looking for people to represent Saco-S in three different boards within the University. To be able to become a representative, it is required that you are a member of a Saco-S union, that you are employed at Uppsala University and that you can understand and communicate in Swedish without much difficulty. The appointment consists of, among other things, reading through documents prior to the meeting (discussing important issues and positions with us), participating in the meeting and then reporting to the Saco-S Board on what has been said. We are looking for representatives for the following three boards: the Disciplinary Domain Board of Medicine and Pharmacy Sciences, the Faculty Board of Educational Sciences and the Department of Education's board. The last day for registration is September 2, 2022.

Saco-S at Uppsala University invites you to a webinar about the salary review 2022. In order for as many as possible to be able to participate and ask questions, we have booked three different days and two different times of the day: August 31 at 12:15-13:00 o'clock (in Swedish), September 2 at 12:15-13:00 o'clock (in English) and September 6 at 15:15-16:00 o'clock (in Swedish). All members at Uppsala University at welcome to participate on any of the three occasions!

New Board and Chairperson!
At the annual meeting on November 23, a new Board and a new Chairperson were elected to take office at the turn of the year. At the meeting the Board's proposal for the activity report was accepted, with some minor changes, and both of the Board's bills were also accepted.

Welcome to our annual meeting!
On November 23 at 16:00 o'clock, it's time for the Saco-S Association's annual meeting. At the annual meeting, we vote on the chairperson, vice chairperson and board members. We then also review the proposal for the Association's annual report and address the propositions and motions that have been submitted. All members at Uppsala University are welcome!

NOTE new link: Welcome to pension webinars in Swedish!
The Saco-S Association invites to two pension webinars in Swedish, one webinar is aimed at those who have a little longer until retirement and should start planning and another webinar which is aimed at those who are closer to retirement. Ulrik Sundin from the Swedish Pensions Agency will talk about how the pension can be affected and how it can be predicted. All members employed at Uppsala University are welcome to participate in the webinars!

Sign up for a union appointment, we are looking for representatives!
We are at the moment looking for people to represent Saco-S in three different instances within the University. The 2020 year's salary survey is done!
Now the 2020 year's salary survey report is finally up on our website! The purpose of the salary surveys carried out at Uppsala University is to map and, from a gender equality perspective, analyse all relevant information regarding salary setting and other terms of employment that applies in the workplace. Certain salary differences that are discovered in this survey are taken into account in future salary reviews, in order to, for example, rectify salary differences that are assessed to be due to gender.

We are looking for two people for different appointments. One will work with work task plans and the other will work with safety representative issues. What will the new normal be after the pandemic? During the pandemic, many of us have been given the opportunity to work from home, or been forced to do so, depending on your view of the situation. The question is what happens when the Covid-19 poster at the entrance to the workplace has been taken down. Will there be a before and an after the pandemic? The salary review for 2020 is finally completed! Please note that we have confidentiality regarding the salary review, it is your manager who is responsible for telling and explaining your new salary. The salary statistics will be updated with the new salary levels as soon as the processing of the April salaries is done. Read more about the salary review here.

New rules for doctor's certificates from November 1
From November 1st 2020 doctor's certificates will be required when applying for sickness benefit (Swedish: sjukpenning) or compensation for care of a sick child (Swedish: Vab). A doctor's certificate will be required if your child has been ill for more than 7 days. A doctor´s certificate will also be required if you have been ill for more than 14 days.
